We hope everyone had a great March Break. It has been a busy week for us, but a good week. We read a story called “Beatrice’s Goat” about a girl in Africa who gets to go to school after her family gets the gift of a goat. Father Francis from Cameroon came into our class to say thank you for raising money for OK Clean Water. We told him about the story of Beatrice’s Goat and he told us that it is a true story! He said he has known lots of children whose lives have improved because they got a goat or chickens or an ox.
We have been learning about the story of Moses and the Passover. We know that Jesus went to Jerusalem to celebrate The Passover and we were wondering what that was. We found out that many years before Jesus there was a prophet named Moses. God helped Moses free the Jewish people from the Egyptians. When God sent a plague of death He would `` passover`` the homes that had lamb`s blood over the doorway.
We celebrated “Earth Hour” on Friday by turning out the lights and turning off the technology. It was very nice. On Friday the Grade One students invited us to pay $1 for a cup of hot chocolate. All the money goes to OK Clean Water. They raised over $600!
