Hello everyone. We hope you had a good week. We had a really, really good week. The choir is preparing for our breathtaking Remembrance Day ceremony. This week we were adjective detectives - everyone got sticky notes and each of us had to find some amazing adjectives in our D.E.A.R. books. We found atrocious, despicable, powerful, jam-packed and more. In gym we learned how to play Newcombe ball and we played Rock and Rollers. In outdoor gym we had a record breaking Terry Fox run. Almost everyone improved the number of laps they ran. We read a great book about WWI called Bunny the Brave War Horse. This helped us to prepare for Remembrance Day. After we read the book we wrote 3 wishes that we have for the world. Some of the wishes were: no more wars, no trophy hunting of animals, no more hatred, for everyone to have the same rights (treat the same way no matter what skin colour, religion, gender, ability), that people would stop smoking, and more. We read the Book the Golden Rule and talked about how it is in every Religion. We also read a funny book about the Golden Rule called "Do Unto Otters". We also read an awesome book together. It was called Stella Luna. This is one of our classmates favourite book. The message in the book was you can have friends that are different from you and that is okay. We made some text to faith connections - for example Jesus befriended the lepers even when everyone else was cruel to them. We had our class photo taken. Our lockdown practice was yesterday. We had two grade 6 boys with us during the lockdown. The policeman said that we did a great job. We did a trial "Genius Hour" this week. The netbooks were very slow and stubborn so it was a little frustrating, but we think we will try it again next month. The last day of our week was cold and snowy. It looked like twinkle, twinkle little star. That's all folks.
