Education week at SEAS was very busy. On Monday we had a beautiful liturgy that was followed by Mr. Rogers giving a cheque to OK Clean Water. It was a cheque for $6115.44! Wow! That's a lot of money! Nora got a SIMPLE t-shirt at the assembly. She generously donated her hair to make wigs for cancer patients at CHEO. On Tuesday we put our persistence, resilience and grit to the test with a school wide PRG activity. Each class got some marshmallows and spaghetti. We got into groups of 3 and tried to build the tallest tower that we could. Mrs. Perrin, Mr. Rogers, Mrs. MacDonald and Mrs. Charelli built a tower that was 1 metre tall. Our tallest tower was 62 centimetres tall, almost 2/3 rds of the way there. We also got to go outside and measure the playground. On Wednesday we had our Art Sale during the bagel breakfast. It was really exciting. We all had jobs like: cashier, security guard and tour guide. It was very fun. We raised $254 and sold almost every piece of art. During the first block our parents came to visit our classroom. Our parents helped us with a measuring activity. On Thursday we started making Mother's Day cards based on the story "The Runaway Bunny" by Margaret Wise Brown. On Friday we had Literacy Cafe. The boys and girls did a great job reading in both English and French. We hope all the mothers have a great Mother's Day.
